One of the nicest of parterrians, coloraturafan has launched an exciting new video project and he could use a little help from you, the cher public. After the jump, an explanation and an appeal.

I’ll start by saying that I have many reservations about posting this video. I have never accepted any sort of compensation for my YouTube contributions, and honestly, I would never feel comfortable asking for it. So this does feel a bit out of place, and uncomfortable for me.

With that said, I am looking to expand my video collection to include a new segment “A chat with Coloraturafan”. With this new project includes the necessity to produce my own videos, which means I need to invest and spend. In order to expedite the process I am starting a GoFundMe account.

This future venture will include video segments where I interview people in the Opera Industry (singers, directors, conductors, designers, fellow fans) in order to further explore this wonderful art that I love so much, and I hope that the videos will prove both entertaining and informative to the viewers of my channel.

The project will include:

  • Chat with coloraturafan
  • Interviewing opera professionals from a fans point of view
  • Singers, directors, conductors, designers, fellow fans with interesting stories
  • Other original content such as opera trivia, historical antidotes and biographical programs
  • The purpose of this project is to expand my channel as well as give fellow fans an entertaining and educational look into the world of opera: past, present and future

I am raising funds to help fund various expenses including:

  • Video equipment and editing software
  • Training and education in using said equipment and software
  • Travel and incidental expenses related to interviewing opera professionals
