Milanov's '44 Normas were great if a bit whoopy!!
I was intrigued by delectable orchestral details & find RWS to be fine Norma although a bit generalized at this point--Heard Sutherland/Horne in Vancouver BC '63!!
Tim Meijers, You were praising the recent Cav/Pag that you attended, and this just showed up today. Teresa Romano is the Santuzza, but no Villari nor Petti. I have not had a chance to listen to it...

I was called away for quite a bit of the broadcast, but I was impressed how vividly RWS sang, while maintaining a plangent core to her tone.
