    when i saw her do abigaille at the met, she couldn’t handle hte difficult coloratura writing at the beginning. i think she just came out and sang the high note very loudly, and skipped the 2-octave drop. weird still, at one point in the ensemble in the first act, she just crossed her arms and leaned on the back wall. she seemed totally unengaged at that point.

    i got a live recording of her abigaille in barcelona or somewhere in spain, and she was much better but she still took that first passage very slowly.

    i thought her lady was not too bad.
