Wondrous Wenarto is back and more bloodthirsty than ever.

The Wenarto interpretation is a worthy addition to the YouTube classics by Montserrat Caballé, Leonie Rysanek, Anja Silja and especially William Zauscher.

Through the courtesy of the one and only Wenarto, La Cieca now presents an exclusive behind the scenes look at “The Making of Salome.”

Nobody beats La Zauscher in the vocal department. Wenarto has the better production values, though. Now I know where all the ‘lost children’ end up that they show on abc all the time. He keeps them in his dungeon and makes them work out!

  • justanothertenor

Is that Jessye singing in the background? I can’t quite make it out…

  • chacowhacko

    mmmmmmm. tastes like chicken!

  • Gualtier Maldè

Okay, now we need to know the name and personal details of the hunk who played the executioner who brings Jokanaan’s head, the Herod was pretty tasty too.

However, Wenarto really needed a better costume -- the shorts and t-shirt look are just too mundane. I really think he should have a rainbow print sarong somewhere in that apartment. Wenarto needs to go all the way in his personal styling -- I mean I love the humpy, twentysomething male accessories but we need a glam diva centerstage.

When is the Legoland Version coming out on DVD?

” I could sing Herodias tomorrow- it’s a question of color and tessitura.”

  • orestes

Yes, tannengrin, I’m sure I saw Herod on a milk carton a few years ago. At least Sr. Wenarto feeds them well.

  • sugarmezzo

A nice antidote to the writer’s strike.

  • COULD SOMEONE PLEASE COME CONFISCATE MY COUGH SYRUP PLEASE, BECAUSE THIS VIDEO MAKES ME WANT TO SWILL IT LIKE IT’S KOOLAID!

  • michael farris

    Okay, I’m officially freaked out.

  • chacowhacko

Now there is a Herod whose cistern I would explore any old time.

  • Okay, that guy with the jeans and the hairy chest? Much hotter than the Don Giovanni in the newest regie post.

  • Grimgerde

I’m going into Herodias mode with the guy in the jeans -- Wir wollen hineingeh’n.

  • well sure as hell beats hanging around the Malls and terrorizing the seniors.

Not exactly off-topic, but it has been reported that a REAL interpreter of Salome, Danish soprano Inga Nielsen, died last Sunday in Copenhagen.
