At long last, complete details on how you, the cher public, can join the party for the First Ever East Coast Parterre Meet and Greet this November 14. Details after the jump.
The event is the Symphony Space HD rebroadcast of Carmen from the Gran Teatre del Liceu, Barcelona, on Sunday, November 14 at 7:00 pm. To reserve your seat in the (ahem!) Reserved Parterre Section, simply call 212-864-5400. Please mention that you are with the Parterre group in order to be seated in the section and to receive the discount price of $19.00.
Symphony Space is located at 2537 Broadway at 95th Street in New York City.

The adjoining Thalia Café will host a “Parterre Happy Hour” on on the 14th beginning at 5:00 pm, and as a member of the Parterre party you will receive 1/2 off on all Italian wines. (Again, simply remind the server you are “with Parterre” when you order.)
Your doyenne herself will arrange a little giveaway or two for attendees. Dress is optional, but La Cieca hopes you will not take that expression too literally.

James Jorden (who wrote under the names "La Cieca" and "Our Own JJ") was the founder and editor of parterre box. During his 20 year career as an opera critic he wrote for the New York Times, Opera, Gay City News, Opera Now, Musical America and the New York Post. He also raised his voice in punditry on National Public Radio. From time to time he directed opera, including three unsuccessful productions of Don Giovanni. He also contributed a regular column on opera for the New York Observer. James died in October 2023.
