It is La Cieca’s sad duty to publish the following example of “This Diva Looks Like That Diva.”

At left we see Renée Fleming in a photo published in the New York Times Magazine around 1999 or so.* Longtime readers of parterre.com will remember that La Cieca uses this image to illustrate the term “No Gay Friends” on her “Talk the Talk” page. At right is a photo accompanying the story “Kirstie Alley quits as face of slimming firm Jenny Craig after piling on the pounds AGAIN” in the Daily Mail.

* Thankfully, Fleming has brought both her waistline and fashion sense under control in recent years.
