Check the Chat from that night’s performance.
I was the first to say HE would not be back.
    And good riddance to him

As the kids nowadays say: Woot, woot!

Gelb should have tossed this bone to his wife, who must be frustrated not to have the opportunity to flail at the MET orchestra too. I don’t think anybody would have minded.

    An ovation for our doyenne!

That “Vanity Fair” article is a little sickening too:

BRAVO! Lindoro @ #8 Where’s Kurt Herbert Adler when we need him? Oh right, still dead…pity.

the vanity fair piece is right, last line paraphrased,in this propaganda dire piece of PR, “He is running out of time”….. tic toc.

  • OK, could I hijack the threat a little? i am looking for suggestions for ringtones. here is what i am looking for:

A roommate that is a great guy, but not a worldly or suave guy that i could give him some of Don Giovanni’s music; but also not a simpleton that i would give him Masetto or Leporello. Of all things I am thinking Chrubino or Fenton, but I could use some help…

A step-monster in law that I know can be as evil as lady Macbeth. The problem is that I have a hubby and a sister in law that studies Shakespeare and therefore when i told the hubby I was going to give her some of the Lady’s music he nixed it right away. Any other Mother in laws out there with good music? (queen of the night is a no-no; she does not deserve such great music all for herself)

A (blood) mother in law who has a bubbly personality and a sunny disposition. I am inclining to look for something from Falstaff (Mrs Ford) but I am not familiar enough with her music in order to be able to pull something.

So have at it guys. You can contact me privately through my blog if you want, that way Cieca carissima will not see her threat hijacked by some unrelated posting.
