I’m surprised she’s doing her dialog in English. I guess the whole thing was dubbed (not an unfamiliar practice in Italian cinema, aka Burt Lancaster in “The Leppard” and after all the popularity of “Nine” lately, I find out that Fellini’s films had dialog dubbed in after the filming)
Doesn’t Maria look beautiful in this interview? Pasolini’s Medea is still a very alien experience, worth a view. Like all of Pasolini’s films I’m never sure if I should admire it or take a shower afterwards (Teorema, and especially Salo).

It’s quite possible that, when all was said and done, English was the language she was most comfortable with.

Oh man! Those “‘I wouldn’t know’s” are so piercing! The woman was born to be dramatic.
Fascinating that they used a prompter for the filming.
Maria behaves like she’s being given some mind controlling kool-aid
every hour. Her Italian interview shows other aspects:
About ten seconds into the clip, I was secretly hoping that La Divina, upon opening the door and surveying her surroundings, would exclaim, “What a dump!”
