Opera from a certain point of view. The best opera magazine on the web. Reviews, breaking news, critical essays, and brainrot commentary on opera from those demented enough to love it.
Our Own JJ is dashing about like a mad crazed thing today. At 4:00 this afternoon, he’s joining Naomi Lewin at WQXR to discuss the Met’s impending season (you can listen here), then dashing over to Lincoln Center to cover the opening night Rheingold for the New York Post. In your doyenne’s understandable absence, hosting duties at La Casa della Cieca will be assigned to the delightful Lindoro Almaviva.
As you chat, you no doubt will want to listen to the Wagnerian one-acter, with commentary and preshow chatter starting at 6:00 pm on Sirius or the Met’s live stream. Naturally we will also be most interested to hear from members of the cher public who brave the elements to witness the HD telecast either at Lincoln Center or in Times Square.
