La Cieca hears that tonight’s Lucia at the Met will be the criterion for deciding whether one or both of the leads might be replaced for the final two performances of the run including the HD telecast February 7.

La Cieca, alas, cannot be in the theater tonight, drat that pesky root canal, so she calls on you, cher public, to serve as citizen spies, getting the truth out about tonight’s performance via parterre.com.

As the performance tonight unfolds, please email La Cieca at [email protected] or text La Cieca at 917-273-8708. Should you have a tidbit to share, please wait until intermission before firing up any electronic devices.

As to the possibility of cast changes in this Lucia, La Cieca will just note that two names recently mentioned here have apparently been “mentioned” at the Met as well, and one hears that backup plans to transport and reschedule the two artists (respectively) are already afoot.
