It’s only a paper regie
There was a lot of circling around the title of the most recent Regie quiz, so La Cieca can’t name a clear winner. Several of you were correct, though, in hinting it was Prodaná nevesta, specifically Andreas Homoki‘s production for the Komische Oper Berlin. Something a bit frillier next.

Ariadne?
just seems right.
The large basket (maybe for laundry) and the tree (oak?) in the background would suggest Falstaff – but that’s too easy. Clearly, this is the Catherine Malfitano reverse-gender production of Eugenia Onegin:
Photo One – Eugenia Onegin discusses the party arrangements with Titian’s father, Mister Larin
Photo Two – Titian (dressed for the costume ball) tries to tell Eugenia that their one-time romance cannot be revived
Photo Three – Madame Triquet gives a lavish rendition of her couplets
It’s A Star Is Born.
1. “Born in a Trunk”
2. “The Man That Got Away”
3. “Hello, everybody. This is Mrs. Norman Maine!”
Don Giovanni?
1. Leporello sings the Catalog Aria to Elvira.
2. Giovanni sings La ci darem la mano to Zerlina.
3. Zerlina sings Batti, batti to Masetto (not visible, lying wounded on the ground below her).
L’Incoronazione di Poppea
1. Act 1 Seneca and Valletto
2. Act 1 Amore and Poppea
3. Act 3 Amore
Good guess!
There are two things though: I guess the character attribution of the second photo is Amore=guy with wings and Poppea=woman dressed with tapestry, so the third figure should represent Poppea, not Amore. Third photo COULD represent the coronation of Poppea but I’m puzzled about the trees in the background.
Also, Amore is a soprano, so either the part was transposed, or here is sung by a (quite aged) sopranist.
Probably the Semele guess is more coherent…
Giulio Cesare? These are so funny, b/c you almost want to just throw out any opera title, b/c it truly is a stab in the dark. LOL

3. Nedda in the show

2: Spalanzani and Olympia
3: Giulietta or the Muse
Midsummer Night’s Dream would be too appropriate looking, right?
