Kukla, Fran and Regie
La Cieca is going to claim doyennical privilege here and say that the correct answers for last week’s Regie quiz are disqualified on grounds of a) silly guess and b) prior knowledge. Otherwise how could she go on with these Regie quizzes, knowing that such wildly unlikely images would immediately shout “Die Meistersinger” to you? Anyway, more “unlikely images” after the jump.

Seems like someone made an opera out of this:
This looks like Tristan for some reason. Last scene being the “Liebestod.”
that is totally unfair! One time I am the winner and then I get disqualified onl because I was message 1???
buuuuuuhhhh

I just noticed the initials over the proscenium of the little stage in no. 2. They could be B.B. (so my Britten guess stands) but they might be B.E. (search me) or B.G. — so could this not be Boris Godunov?
I think its BB, it looks Shakespearian, so I will opt for Beatrice & Bendedict.
Whatever it is, it look like a fun production.
Hamlet by Ambroise Thomas
1) “Vous allez à un couvent”
2) Le meurtre de Gonzago
3) Ophélie’s mad scene
I can’t answer this “legally” according to the rules!
I sam seeing this production on Saturday! The production photos have made it into the press, so I know.
Tosca is too obious so I guess it’s
UN BALLO IN MASCHERA
1. Oscar’s first aria
2. Renato conspires to murder the king with the 2 other
3. Ecco l’orrido campo
Porgy and Bess
trovatore
maria stuarda
or bolena
Is this still open? I only know about this opera from having read about it, but I’m guessing Der Vampyr, because one of the guys looks like Vlad the Impaler and Dracula means Dragon (as in Kukla, Fran and Ollie)Not a very pretty guess, but there you have it.
