Reminds one of Dinner Theatre venue
where the dinner is usualy awful and
the theatre even more so .
The soprano has a rather nice sound — touch of the Martina Arroyos, though less ease at the top. I see from You Tube that is the Bregenz company guesting in Lech. Maybe they should try freezing the the lake over …

That IS fun. Unlike the Aida, it doesn’t try to be the opera but tells the story – and very well indeed – through ice dancing, with very good choreography. There are a lot more excerpts from this production. Thanks for this!
I never liked Katerina Witt. And I would bet that Brians Boitano and Orser were checking each other out and ignoring her.
Indeed. I remember when it was advertised like whoah and I thought it’s so unfair that ice skaters get to do opera and I don’t (I was fourteen or something and had just seen one live opera).
And doesn’t the Don José Brian look a bit like Carreras?
Am I the only person who kept waiting for the guy waving the torches around (at the beginning of the video) to accidentally set afire his fellow dancer? He seemed to come awfully close to that Spandex.
So if this is Aida on ice, where are the woolly mammoths?
