The clown with his pants falling down

rufus

Oh, La Cieca just hates herself when she get a detail wrong. It seems that languid wunderkind Rufus Wainwright will not be performing his hit aria “Les feux d’artifice” at the gala opening of the New York City Opera saluting noted teabagger David H. Koch. The air will be performed by an actual operatic soprano, and Rufus will favor the dressy audience with a rousing rendition of “That’s Entertainment!” from his Judy Garland tribute.

La Cieca, will you, or perhaps JJ, be attending this gala? If so, I can’t wait for the review!

i have no deep-seated beef with Peter Gelb, but the notion that Rufus should have been commissioned to write an opera for the Met undermines his credibility in a ghastly way.
