La Cieca has to admit that what she thought would be a bang-up notion turned out to be a total damp squib: the “Letter” competition failed to rouse much interest. The sole (albeit very fine) entry follows the jump.

So, while we’re on the subject, cher public, let’s hear from you. What sort of competitions do you like, or (more to the point) what sort of competitions are you up for competing in? All suggestions are welcome!

Thank you Manou! You have no idea how hard I practiced. French was never my best language. So i always had to go the extra mile for it.

Thank you, thank you, thank you.

La Cieca- I think you will find that anything that is easy to do (and fun) will get a lot of attention cos most of us come on here for relaxation (not work).

The regie quizzes obviously please a lot of people (I was over them long ago) but the “guess the singers” I really love…and I’m sure a lot of people (like me) don’t necessarily put up our answers onscreen, but we sure go through them regardless.

I especially love it when the answers are given with the accompanying photos of the singers- would love more of those quizzes.

#21: alas, wenarto, some of us will never move on from Izzy … >sigh<

  • Ruxton says:

Isn’t that just life? We want Izzy but end up with Harry! :(

Though my spotty participation probably doesn’t give my voice much weight, I’m fondest of the identification quizzes, too–fun and, dare I say it, educational as well.

  • Sanford says:

As someone who loves the identification quizzes, I have to say that they are an awful lot of fun to put together. They’re almost more fun to assemble than to guess, because I do horribly at the guessing.

  • Lindoro Almaviva says:

Sanford, I will have to agree with you. I have put a couple of them together and they are awful fun choosing the spinets and this singer really does this phrase better or this singer is an unusual choice, the’ll shit a brick when they see it or this singer blows it so bad it’ll be funny I love putting them together.

Usually I am OK at the guessing game. I have surprised myself here and there.

  • Ruxton says:

I agree with Rapt- the identification quizzes are great and sweet Sanford, you did a great job on Mon Coeur S’ouvre a Ta Voix – if you enjoy putting them together we can only be grateful. What about a quizz on that great aria “Mon Coeur Ferme a la Voix d’Harry” ?

*nortim but so much fun :)
