I really loved Erna Spoorenberg and was glad that I was able to find a European CD of her Mozart aria album (on Argo) as well as her Melisande. There was also something endearing about Christina as well, yodels and all. Sorry that her Phillips recitals were never distributed domestically on CD.

BTW, Trebs sang well in Met Broadcast Saturday. Enough said.

WindyCityOperaman (21) :If you like Erna Spoorenberg, try to seek out the complete Gounod Romeo & Juliet on the Bella Voce label with Alain Vanzo.

  • harry says:

Is this Pondman family the new ‘Crapp’ Family Singers?

  • leahzea says:

    harry, that is genius.

  • Ivan T Addio says:

Robert Holl is a very fine Dutch singer too.

actually this is totally sad. what an asshole this father must be… making his own kids the joke number one in operatic internet and at the same time probably destroying their voices…
somehow this is mental child abuse

  • wenarto says:

One should be fortunate to have a discipline father like that or the kid would ended up like ME!

  • WindyCityOperaman says:

The Pondman “tenor” sounds like he is choking. Pondman “soprano’s” “performance” of “Tu che le vanita” performance she scoops up to practically every note. She’s squirming all over the place and pushing, pushing, pushing. I agree this father “teacher” is ruining his children’s voices. Pathetic.

  • felix says:

These kids are too young to sing this kind of repertoire. And their father won’t help them either…he is mentally abusive!
Their father ruined his voice, but thinks he is the best teacher for his kids…and will bring them on worldstages! he should be stopped to do this!

There is a sad, sad story behind this. The father failed terribly at the Conservatory because he wouldn’t listen to any of his teachers and through lack of talent (see daddy singing on youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AWBMCb9K2Lw . Now he forces his children (and has done so since they were born) to play instruments and sing in this awful way. The children are completely brainwashed by their father into thinking they will be famous for their opera singing one day. Mother was forced to leave the family because of physical and mental abuse. So this is not eexactly a laughing matter….
