This concert preceded his decision to drop out of the Opening Night Forza at La Scala.
The rewriting of the texts and the production in general of McBurney who believes himself more smart than Schickaneder irritates me with his desire for a permanent show. Misogynistic duo of priests...
I mentioned that one of my other dream roles was Albin in La Cage. He said he didn't think he'd ever do it.

Last night, I listened to the entire Eleanora BUrrato album I posted about below. There is, aside from the lack of a trill, some truly stunning singing. The Bellini and Donizetti are wonderful but...

Isn't Kaufman struggling?
I also thought very highly of the production although not without reservations, the ghost, in particular Having lived in the Rust Belt (or a rust belt) it resonated with me. Detractors often lump...

And it's so nice to see a Lucia with more than just a dab of blood. She just killed a man! She should be drenched. And is that a gllass harmonica? Yay.

I was in the house yesterday and I thought she sang beautifully, with a secure and healthy voice... and did not move me one bit. I kept asking myself: Why is she singing that? Does she really have...
Yes, the same production (which I LOVE, BTW) : the production is tailored for Asmik.
Agree. Fridman has a distinctive voice and a lot of personality and she can still develop (she is only 29). No wonder she is getting so much attention in Italy. I wish she would sing in France...
Aargh I hope it goes well but I wouldn't be advising Amneris at this (or perhaps any) point. Would be delighted to be proved wrong though. I'm crossing my fingers for the Carmen, it...

I was in the audience. I found RWS impressive, but I'm not a Bellini expert. The tenor's higher notes were exciting, but "grainy" lower down. Some boos for the director.
I found Mr Bruson a marvel in the Muti recording of La Traviata, that is the first time I could actually understand why Germont's aria is so famous.
