Now you've got me imagining a Lecoq-trained Sutherland (or Deutekom!) Lucia!

Is this Marilyn Maye or Kathy Keegan?, Mr Snow, because if it's Kathy Keegan I'd love to have more info. Where and when did these concerts occur. Marilyn Maye has been very active well...

Peter G. Davis also has prize words about Sills in his large volume, "The American Opera Singer". It's really a big takedown. A friend of mine who loved Sills from 70's NYCO...

No she did not, AFAIK. And certainly not as a performer. She and Weill moved to the US two years later, in 1935. Her first Broadway appearance was in 1937's ETERNAL ROAD, in the huge cast of...

I still remember her wily looks and eyes in the other Frau, with the amazing Studer with Solti. She was the ultimate Amme.
Sills like all fab divas/divos/Trump are in a category of existence that just IS!?Milanov could kick a gown train like nobody--her Tosca in '61 Met with London was hysterically bad/wonderful!!!!!

The 1933 Broadway production? Did Lenya travel to NYC for that?
I think her having a deaf daughter & mentally retarded son would be a terrible sorrow to carry during a glorious career!?
