“I’m taking a sabbatical from opera performances this season,” soprano Angel Blue announced today on her Instagram, though she added that she intends to keep her announced recital dates.
“She is planning to return to opera in the 2027–28 season,” the Met Press Office follows up.
Among Blue’s New York cancellations: Desdemona in January and Aïda in March. Her Otello performances will be substituted by Adriana González, while Ailyn Pérez will sing the March performances of Aïda and Marigona Qerkezi makes Met debut taking over the title role in April.
