Conchita Supervia should have made it to the Met

For vibrato fanciers, of course, discovering Supervia is like hitting the mother lode.

But for me it’s not just in the intrinsic allure of the sound, it’s the yards of character that come with it. I love the freedom of her singing, the play with rhythm, the shaping of it all. The face. She’s just one of those singers I can’t listen to without smiling.
