This required a google, since I’m not altogether sure who has or hasn’t sung at the Met, and of course googling isn’t googling any more because before you get to their actual results you get a dumb and usually inaccurate AI summary of what you might be about to read.

Anyway, google AI seemed very keen to inform me that Mado Robin never sung at the Met, and that seemed as good a reason as any to post this extraordinary recording. I like to use it to annoy Mariah Carey fans by proving that whistle register doesn’t count.
