While Hilley is no stranger to Tristan, this run of performances in Barcelona is Davidsen’s first encounter with Isolde; expectations are high for her New York performances which will be opposite Michael Spyres in a new production by Yuval Sharon. Hilley will next sing the opera in concert with the London Philharmonic Orchestra in July opposite another debutante Isolde, Sara Jakubiak. No live broadcast of these Barcelona performances has been scheduled, but an edited video will be available on February 15 on the Liceu’s Opera+ platform.
