The story tracks ten days in the lives of two intertwined love affairs in swingin’ London: Alex (Glenda Jackson) and Daniel (Peter Finch) are separately sleeping with the rather younger bisexual Bob (Murray Head). The screenplay by Penelope Gilliat made waves with its straightforward presentation of the relationships, perhaps most memorably in a passionate but matter-of-fact kiss between the two male leads.

Richard Lynn adds:

The music complements the tone of the movie so well and it’s hard to imagine it without the use of the Mozart. Here we see Finch’s final monologue (spoiler alert) which then segues into the credits where we hear the music from Così. The same music is used in Todd Solondz‘s Happiness in what I am sure is a deliberate homage.
