Our best wishes to La Cieca —

    And this—

Those white Christmases seem a thing of the past. Yesterday and today I was doing some work in the garden. Bulbs are starting to come up and it will be again 15 degrees. There was a big article in the SZ about how if the water around Greenland is colder than usual it influences the jet stream and brings us warm air up from Africa. Apparently we are in for more warm winters and hot summers. No goose this year but duck breasts and they will go in now. Merry Christmas and Frohe Weihnachten.

Here’s a movingly spiritual Christmas song from the graduating class of the Nadja Michael School of Vocal Art. Merry Christmas everybody.

Although I am too young to remember the Firstone broadcasts, when I was young I lived for the yearly Firestone Christmas album. It introduced me to many operatic greats -- and where else could you hear Leomtyne Price and Vicki Carr or James MacCracken and Vic Damone. So, to celebrate the holidays.

Thank you so much, Sandy. This transported me to my childhood, when as a baby queer I watched variety shows so I could thrill to Vicki singing this or Eydie Gorme singing “If he walked into my life.” Sweet memories for a Christmas morning.
