La Cieca’s trying a new look for parterre.com, since she must confess that the light-on-dark format was beginning to get a little wearing on her aging eyes. Comments? Suggestions?

I agree that the dark on light is good – but a softer background would be helpful.

Loved it as it was, but change is nice, too. (I guess)

Since you’ve asked…The design on the sides is a bit distracting, and a softer, less glaring white would be more comfortable……and I, too, liked it better without the pagination…….but as long as you’re here, La Cieca, and happy with the site, anything is OK with me!

    Merci, cher Cieca!

Your’re back again! This new, subtly purple background is much easier on the eyes. And did you also soften/darken the golden horseshoe design, or am I imagining it? I’m still hoping for something a bit more distinguished –though as someone totally devoid of design skills I have no suggestions.

I love it – it’s fresh and ageless, just like La Cieca.

    Change is good.

I echo many of the comments posted so far. The gray background is an improvement over the white for the eyes, if a bit less worthy of this site than a shade of cream might be. Glad to have numbered posts back but would prefer all posts appear on one page as in the past. As with the gray background, the font is a bit plain though I appreciate the increased size from a few days ago.

Sad news – CA court upholds Prop 8 (though existing same sex marriages remain valid).
