La Cieca’s trying a new look for parterre.com, since she must confess that the light-on-dark format was beginning to get a little wearing on her aging eyes. Comments? Suggestions?

    Hey, La Cieca–how about grunge?

There might be a purple one in there if you like.

What about red and gold? traditional colors for parterre boxes. I think Cocteau referred to opera fanatics and culture vultures, including himself, as having “the red and gold disease”.. and I would agree the white has to go, too sterile, glaring, unfriendly…like an over eager usher shining a flashlight in your face and asking to see your stub.

As we scale down ‘the rippling boxy visuals’ : make us think, in conjunction with La Cieca’s new face staring at us from the top…..’You are mine…you are under MY control…all resistance is helpless!’

I don’t really care anymore; I’m soooooo happy it’s back up. Although, as far as having one’s cake and eating it, too, might I suggest naked men as a backdrop? I could kill two birds with one stone.

    I like it. Don’t touch a thing.

At least cream, PLEASE. The white or off-white background makes the page indistinguishable from so many other sites. Oh, I’d get used to it, but with purple and cream-yellow, or the aforementioned red and gold, it would be so much more Parterre-ish!

    Glad it’s working though!

Such effort is to be commended La Cieca. I do not like the white background, half of the times I dont think I logged into parterre box. And as said before, I liked the unpaginated comments page better since we pick up where we left of easier and catch up on the discussion faster (sometimes just scrolling down and reading the “important posts” is enough to get a feeling for the discussion).

I have to say that I dislike the page system. I liked it when all comment were in one big column.

So far the rest is beautiful!
