more and more mania

La Cieca is delighted to note that her old, old, old friend Charlie Handelman has picked up the podcasting microphone again after a hiatus earlier this winter. Recent episodes of The Handelmania Podcast include surveys of recordings of Ernani and Lohengrin recordings and tributes to Claudia Muzio, Caterina Mancini and Leopold Stokowski. And don’t miss Charlie’s two-part collection of Verdi finales!

  • Sorry my website is for the time being out of date, but looking inside is of interest …..

I find it very fine that Handelman is prenting again different nice podcasts. La Cieca is out of broadcasting. I would be happy if she is presenting more podcasts again. I am enjoying every minute listening the music.

Despite of Varga’s Wagner podcasts that he is not so often presenting Wagner arias, because I am real Wagner fan.

In fact I am still looking for a nice Meistersinger production.

Maybe something and an idea for La Cieca.

Have a nice time and I see or hear you…..

The new way of presenting looks very pretty and a overwhelming of information….

Caterina Mancini, a name from my past. I saw her in Trovatore, in Philly, after she should have retired. She simply couldn’t get it up anymore. Her notes above A mostly fell distressingly flat. She received polite applause and NO solo bows at the end!
