But enough about me
Our editor JJ chats with the lovely and talented Mona de Crinis in an interview for the Palm Springs Bottom Line, a publication whose title contains so many double entendres La Cieca lost count. Thrill yet once again to the saga of parterre box, the little zine that could, and JJ, the editor who would. And did. (Frequently.)
‘Well that explains why she sang Violetta like a soccer mom. …’”
fantastic line…
It’s a quite nice interview, with handsome pics to boot! Brava.
Holy SEXXXXXAAAAAYYYYYYYYYY La Cieca!!!! I had no idea. It’s quite something when the reality surpasses the fantasy. You are a cutie-pie.
JJ & La Cieca are so lucky that they have rewarding careers in the opera field even if it does not involve an army of other opera people to manage, direct, or hand-hold.
As a former opera singer, I had never ascended to roles beyond those named “Page”, “Herald”, “Messenger”, or whose single line wasn’t “Eccola!” But I do sometimes wish I had stayed in an opera-related job. So brava to you for making Parterre Box such a success.
Congratulations, La Cieca.
My Dear La Cieca,
You are brilliant and congratulations on your growing fame. It is well deserved. Now if we could only get Mortier or Gelb (or hell, even La Selva) to let you have a go at directing.
God, I remember the good old days of the original “zine”…and now our hostess with the mostest is getting bigger than ever. Parterre and Parterre.com has been a huge influence in my “loud-mouthed and highly opinionated” rantings and enjoyment of the the DVINE art form that is opera.
Three points on the (very fine) interview:
LOVED the opener!
She implies that the zine has always been on-line and goes back ten years. This is not so.
She implies that all your devoted readers are gay. This also is nowheres near true. Opera fans, yes.
How does it feel to get bumped up an alphabetical rung on the celebrity ladder?
Be careful how far up you go, cause these queens on here will start dishing you!
We at C/P 3.0 dare to hope that your star burns as brightly in the firmament as you deserve.
