As a teenager, I heard this recital disc when it appeared in 1976, and I was instantly smitten. Von Stade simply is the young Marguerite, and the freshness of the voice still captivates. This is one of my all-time favorite arias too. 50 years may have passed, but when I listen to this the years melt away.
