Some filth or dementia from Mat Hal

Who doesn’t love a slightly murky archival recording?

Beverly Sills’s NYCO Maria Stuarda/Three Queens are, of course, a known quantity.

But, I love the filthy Elisabetta of Marisa Galvany. Galvany produces strong reactions, but when she lands those sun-fire high notes, I get chills. I have always felt like her high notes (and I mean this as an absolutely demented compliment) could peal wallpaper off the walls.

Utterly camp.
