“Radvanovsky will still appear in her previously scheduled performances of Puccini’s Tosca next spring,” the Met Press Office goes on.

Radvanovsky is, for now, still scheduled to sing the role in Barcelona next spring.

Minnie also seems to be a role debut for Miknevičiūtė, who has so far only appeared Stateside as Sieglinde in Santa Fe last summer about which critic Lisa Hirsch observed that “she might be slight of frame, but she has a mighty voice, a bright, piercing soprano.”

Harry Rose, who caught her ferocious Salome in Milan in 2023, said that “while her tightly coiled voice lacks a distinctive trait and she loses most of her volume at the bottom of her range, she’s an assiduously detailed musician and furious actress in absolute control of her own interpretive capacities.”
