A favorite art song performance from CKurwenal

I listen to about as much art song as I do opera and could have filled every day of April with favorite selections.

But the very first thing that came to mind was this Wolf song in this specific performance by Dame Felicity Lott, which I was first introduced to during high school, when we were doing a module on German Lieder for music A-level.

She traverses such a range of emotion from the wistful and languid to the passionate and desolate, and the interplay of the rubato and expression between Dame Felicty and Geoffrey Parsons is spell binding. The entire album is wonderful, offering so much beautiful singing and musicianship.
