A favorite bass performance from Eli Jacobson

This bass aria “Sous les pieds d’une femme” from Gounod’s La Reine du Saba used to be a concert favorite

There are wonderful recordings floating around with Marcel Journet and Ezio Pinza. It’s a gorgeous melody and Paul Payan recorded it on Odéon in 1929 with over 7 minutes playing time. It’s a beauty!
