Taylor’s upcoming year holds much concert work though it also sees her taking on larger operatic roles such as Handel’s Orlando at Longborough in May. She’ll also return to the role of Handel’s Cornelia, a role she sang on tour with The English Concert, this time on tour with Il Pomo d’Oro.

Monaco will be in North America starting next month as the Count in Il barbiere di Siviglia with the Canadian Opera Company, though the summertime holds two rarer bel canto productions in Monaco’s native Italy: Donizetti’s Enrico di Borgogna in Venice and L’occasione fa il ladro at the Rossini Festival in Pesaro.

According to his website, Monaco also considers himself a pop singer and he can be heard below covering cantautore Lucio Dalla.
