From the opening Agamemnon motif to the final C-major chord, it is one hour and 40 minutes of non-stop excitement. I don’t think there is an extraneous note. I attend whenever it is put on. Hildegard Behrens and Christa Ludwig with the Boston Symphony stand out. I’m a lover of strange voices, so I’ve chosen Evelyn Herlitzius, who has given me much pleasure.
