Evening in the Palace of Reason: Bach Meets Frederick the Great in the Age of Enlightenment, by James R. Gaines

This is a very entertaintingly written book by James R. Gaines about the meeting between Bach and closet queen Frederick the Great in Sans Souci — actually, the meeting itself accounts for very little, so the book is basically intertwined biographies of both men and their times. Perfect b(e)ach reading!
