More people should listen to Hanne-Lore Kuhse

East Germany’s Hochdramatische icon, Berlin’s local Nachtigall.

Best known (if at all) for her Isoldes and Brünnhildes (and best avoided in her ill-advised forays into Verdi auf Deutsch). I selected here something that shows her remarkable capacity with words and tone-painting. I absolutely adore what she does with these Berg songs.
