A favorite Mozart performance from Christopher Corwin

On 23 July 1986, almost certainly more people simultaneously experienced a Mozart aria than ever had before or since when Arleen Auger sang at Andrew and Fergie‘s wedding.

 

Not even Kiri’s Handel at Charles and Diana‘s was as effortlessly lovely as Auger’s ‘Exsultate, jubilate. Later today, Chris’s Cache will explore in some depth my long affection for Auger’s Mozart.
