A favorite Mozart performance from Patrick Lenaghan

Fritz Wunderlich‘s singing is so wonderful and effortless that no further commentary is needed.

For complete operas, I have too many to list, but Klemperer‘s Magic Flute is probably the performance that best realizes the humanity and emotional depth that Mozart expressed not just in that opera, but in all his works. The singers in Klemperer’s recording are well matched to their parts and play so beautifully off each other. I find the conclusion profoundly moving and uplifting.
