San Francisco Opera 2024-25

The first of the major American opera houses to announce its 2024-25 season did so today

Highlights include Music Director Eun Sun Kim leading a season-opening Un ballo in maschera (Lianna Haroutounian, Michael Fabiano, and Amartuvshin Enkhbat, directed by Leo Muscato) and then Tristan und Isolde (Simon O’Neill, Anja Kampe, Wolfgang Koch, and Annika Schlicht directed by Paul Curran).

Later in the season, Kim leads Idomeneo with Matthew Polenzani, Daniela Mack, Ying Fang, and Elza van den Heever.

Poul Ruders‘s The Handmaid’s Tale, staged by John Fulljames and conducted by Karen Kamensek in September.

Eve-Maud Hubeaux, Jonathan Tetelman, and Christian van Horn are a trio in Carmen in November in Francesca Zambello‘s production.
