His final Met performance was Rosenkavalier only one year later.On this day premiered Mozart’s Cosi fan tutte (1790), Donizetti’s Lucrezia Borgia (1833), Richard Strauss’ Der Rosenkavalier (1911) and Poulenc’s Dialogues of the Carmelites (1957).
