On this day in 1978 tenor Rockwell Blake made his Met debut on tour in Minneapolis as Don Ottavio.
This series of tour Don Giovannis were also all of soprano Joan Carden‘s Met career (Anna), the last Met performances of sopranos Evelyn Mandac (Zerlina), Maralin Niska and Elizabeth Harwood (Elvira) and the only two performances of conductor Theo Alcántara.
