Anna Netrebko‘s current concert tour is scheduled at some point to include her first public performance of “In questa reggia” from Turandot, but it hasn’t happened so far. Tonight’s concert in Moscow did include some very attractive singing, though.
These unofficial clips have the advantage of an auditorium sound balance, in contrast to the miked concert last week in Munich.
The next stop on the tour is Prague, where Turandot’s aria is included on the preliminary program. We’ll find out later this week if what’s on the page matches up to what will be sung.

James Jorden (who wrote under the names "La Cieca" and "Our Own JJ") was the founder and editor of parterre box. During his 20 year career as an opera critic he wrote for the New York Times, Opera, Gay City News, Opera Now, Musical America and the New York Post. He also raised his voice in punditry on National Public Radio. From time to time he directed opera, including three unsuccessful productions of Don Giovanni. He also contributed a regular column on opera for the New York Observer. James died in October 2023.
