Late last month, Italian soprano Rosa Feola experienced an allergic reaction midway through a performance of Lucia di Lammermoor, prompting the Teatro San Carlo to skip the Mad Scene altogether. (She was replaced in subsequent performances by Jessica Pratt and Sara Blanch.)
Feola, who was back onstage earlier this month as Gilda in London, is scheduled to bring her anticipated Violetta to New York for the first time next month. This week, Parterre Box previews her return to New York with some of her Traviata recorded in Verona last summer.
