Quinn Kelsey‘s 2026 starts slowly ahead of a rumored opening night run as Macbeth opposite Lise Davidsen in New York this fall. This week, Parterre Box shares him and social media whiz kid Jennifer Rowley in a duet from another Verdi opera rumored to be arriving in New York later in 2026, Simon Boccanegra.

This recording, captured in Philadelphia the fall of 2023, was Kelsey’s debut in the role. Rowley, who had performed the role of Amelia before, was called in to substitute for an indisposed Ana María Martínez.

Verdi is anchoring Kelsey’s 2026; he’s about to sing Rigoletto in Canada (he’ll return to the role with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra in June) and he has performances of Macbeth and La traviata on the calendar, too. Rowley’s year is a little more eclectic, with performances of Lady Macbeth in Genova and a recently announced debut as Turandot in Miami where she’ll share the role with an equally improbable ice princess, Aleksandra Kurzak.
