If I rest, I Rustioni

“The Metropolitan Opera announced the appointment of Daniele Rustioni to the position of Principal Guest Conductor for a three-year term.”

Also sprach the Met press office.

Rustioni, the first to hold the position since never-the-bride Fabio Luisi departed in 2017, will conduct “a minimum of two operas per season.”

Yannick seems excited: “Having Daniele in this elevated role is good for the orchestra, good for the chorus, and good for opera.”

Could this herald more change in the years ahead?
