A while back, there was a great outcry for some Meyerbeer on my Mixcloud page, but neither Emma di Resburgo nor Les Huguenots got a lot of attention.  Hopefully this concert performance of L’Africaine from Monaco with Martina Arroyo (long overdue on my site!), Giorgio Casellato-Lamberti, and Sherrill Milnes will help fill in the gaps left by the obscurity of Emma and the unknowns in the cast of Les Huguenots.  And hey!  There’s even a tenor aria that absolutely everybody knows (although mostly in Italian.)
