I remember being enthralled by these tales told with simplicity, passion, and excitement. I recently picked up the book thinking that I was probably beyond it all, but, to my surprise, I once again fell under its spell. Needless to say, countless operas and operettas have evolved from these stories of the all-too-human gods and heroes of ancient Greece.
