La Cieca has just added a new bit of functionality to the commenting system on parterre.com. As you type your comment into the form box, you will notice that lower on the page there will appear an instant preview of what your comment will look like. This feature is handy for checking spelling, and it gives you the ability to preview formatting. You can also use basic HTML to insert a link into your comment.
La Cieca wants to reassure her cher public that she has neither fallen off the face of the earth nor succumbed to that mysterious illness that’s killing all the bloggers. The last few days have been something of a slow news period for opera gossip and your doyenne has taken advantage of that fact by retiring to her boudoir and catching up on beauty sleep.
Our JJ will make the trek from Sunnyside this weekend to witness Satyagraha and Edgar, and Milton Host promises he will nag me into publishing the overdue episode of Unnatural Acts of Opera in some sort of timely manner. (We’ll try for this evening, but sometimes even Milton’s most insistent prodding cannot rouse La Cieca from her lethargy.)
Cher public, in response to a request from Nerva Nelli, La Cieca has added a new feature to the parterre.com main page; or rather she’s improved upon an old feature. You may remember the excerpts from your comments used to appear above the logo at the top of the page.
The new format will display the most recent comments directly below the top posting; that is, the second post on the main page will always be a list of the most recent comments. You will find a list of excerpts from the most recent comments (with links to the complete comment) in the left menu bar. That way you dear people can easily catch up with (and continue) your ongoing conversation, colloquies and catfights. (The comments block right under the top story was very clunky-looking, La Cieca decided. It is possible to display more comment excerpts in the sidebar or to include more of each comment. Those of you who follow comments avidly may want to subscribe to the comments rss feed for parterre.com.
Your doyenne is always diffident about asking you for financial aid, cher public, but recently a few of you inquired how you can help out. It’s easy, actually: using PayPal, you can donate as much (or as little) as you choose (or do not choose) using any major credit card. (For more information on PayPal go here.) Just click on the button below to start winning your wings. Addendum: with the encouragement of the cher public, I have moved this important note about amazon.com from the comments section here into the main body of the blog:
