Cher Public

It’s the new zoophilia revue

Which opera house’s notoriously conservative backers would be shocked to hear the company is currently holding auditions for supers to perform simulated acts of bestiality?

  • Parpignol

if you look for a compromise synthesis of a Zeffirelli production (lots of animals on stage) with the outgoing Bondy Tosca ( pervy Scarpia) you get: bestiality on New Year’s Eve at the Met! break out the champagne!

    • La Cieca

Surely it’s no coincidence that in the Met’s new production of Tosca Bryn Terfel is interpolating “I Got Plenty o’ Mutton.”

      • Parpignol

or that Cavaradossi will conclude the role with Pinkerton’s last words, “son veal!”

  • Nelly della Vittoria

Well, wasn’t David T. Little of Dog Days fame working on something for the Met’s New Works programme?

  • Sean Burns

Maybe I’m grasping at straws here, but might it be Zürich? “Back(ers)” = zurück?

  • Savannah Dillard

Umm… maybe the new production of Cosi fan tutte at the Met? I mean, we already saw the whole strongman thing, so maybe it’s another production element?
(Full disclaimer: I have not actually seen the production in full, just promos.)
    Also, FIRST POST!
